O!PLA 2015 Grand Finale: Music Video Projections Illuminate Polish Animation Festival

Video Projections to Open the Grand Finale of O!PLA 2015 – A Celebration of Polish Animation

We are thrilled to announce that the grand finale of the O!PLA 2015 National Polish Animation Festival will kick off with a special showcase of three recently premiered music videos. These captivating animations, celebrated for their creative artistry and storytelling, will be shown on the big screen at the Museum of Cinematography in Łódź, Poland, on May 28, 2015, at 6:00 PM.

This prestigious festival, which spotlights the talent and diversity within Polish animation, has chosen to open its finale with a selection of music videos that bridge sound and visual art. This year’s selections include:

  1. ALLES – "Masy"

    • Directed by Łukasz Rusinek, this video combines a raw, monochromatic style with intense imagery that complements the industrial, experimental sounds of ALLES. The video’s visual language powerfully underscores the themes of mass culture and social commentary found in the track.

RENATA PRZEMYK – "Rzeźba Dnia"

  • Crafted by Monika Kuczyniecka, this unique video uses claymation techniques to create a visually stunning narrative. Renata Przemyk’s haunting vocals are matched by Kuczyniecka’s detailed, handcrafted characters, bringing a fresh and tactile dimension to the lyrics and melody of "Rzeźba Dnia."

KROMPROOM – "Artificial Intelligence"

  • Directed by Alicja Błaszczyńska, this video for Kromproom’s "Artificial Intelligence" transports viewers into a surreal digital landscape. Known for her innovative approach, Błaszczyńska explores themes of technology, consciousness, and humanity’s interaction with artificial intelligence, creating a piece that is both thought-provoking and visually arresting.

The Museum of Cinematography in Łódź provides an ideal venue for this celebration, allowing audiences to experience these works as they were meant to be seen—on a large cinema screen, with immersive sound, and in an environment dedicated to the art of visual storytelling. Each music video offers a distinct style and emotional impact, creating a varied program that promises to captivate festivalgoers.

The O!PLA Festival has grown in prominence over the years, highlighting the work of both established and emerging Polish animators and filmmakers. With the opening projections of these three videos, attendees will have a unique opportunity to appreciate the diversity of artistic expression in Polish animation today.

Join us on May 28 to celebrate the final event of O!PLA 2015 and to witness the vibrant intersection of music and animation.
